Let me invite you evangelists to be with us in Myrtle Beach for the bi-annual Impact 21 Conference December 30-Jan.1,’09. Dr. Steve Pettit and I started this conference in 2000 to be a blessing and encouragement to our fellow evangelists and those entering evangelism. We will have great singing, preaching and fellowship for three power packed days. Special arrangements are being made for RV parking, condo rentals, golf packages etc. at greatly reduced rates. This will be a wonderful way to start a new year as we sharpen ourselves for cutting edge preaching in the 21st century.General sessions and workshops are planned dealing with varied subjects pertaining to the life and work of the evangelist. Special ladies sessions are being planned for the wives.
By Dr. Tom Farrell We continue the theme of evangelism and soulwinning in this month’s Voice of the Evangelists. We have considered the convictions and compassion of the soulwinner and this time I want to deal with the Consecration of the Soulwinner. Witnessing should not be an occasional event performed out of duty, but a habitual practice done out of devotion.
By Dr. Hal Webb I have been asked to write about my beginnings, my ministries and from the many years of experience, helpful guidelines and warnings to God's men who serve. This I will do, not boastfully, but with the hope it will encourage others to great victories and long ser-vice.
By Dr. Lance T. Ketchum In the last century, evangelism has been changed from a go and teach command to come and hear. This has wrongfully created a system where evangelism is defined as bringing unsaved people into the church assembly to hear the gospel and get saved. Bringing unsaved people to the church assembly to get saved is not a wrong thing to do. However, it is not the primary way God intends evangelism to be done.
By Lou Martuniac The Crossless gospel is an interpretation of God’s redemptive plan for mankind that can be summed up as follows: The lost man simply needs to believe a man named Jesus guarantees eternal life, and by believing nothing more than that he (the lost man) is born again.
By David Young Is there a perfect scenario for an evangelist who desires to present the gospel in a “mass-evangelism” effort? Obviously some gospel opportunities are better than others…more unbelievers to whom to speak, preaching opportunities that are as effective as possible, good counselors ready to help with those who respond. And on and on! In my ministry few scenarios have been better than two privileges I have had to work with Hope for the Future Camps in the country of Moldova.
By Bryan Samms I never dreamed that by age 30 I would already have 5 years of evangelism under my belt. When asked to write a review of these early days, I began to ponder all of the memories and experiences. I began to categorize them in outline form (just like every preacher does). A quick summary of these 5 years is that they were filled with unbelievable trips, unusual experiences, and untold blessings.
By Harold Vaughan Brother Tom Farrell requested that I write an article about the Prayer Advances. It all started back in the late 1980’s when an evangelist friend and I decided we needed to start the New Year off on our knees in a season of prayer. As we thought about this, it dawned on us that there might be some pastors who would like to join us. We put the word out and were surprised when about 30 pastors invested three days dedicated to preaching and praying.
Reviewed by Jim Starr I am currently reading "One God One Message" by P.D. Bramsen. It is an excellent book filled with excellent illustrations and information especially directed for truth seekers from non-Christian backgrounds with a special appeal to our Muslim friends seeking to know the truth. He primarily quotes from the NIV. I would prefer the KJV. Bramsen is a brilliant man and the book is full of excellent material. His more than a quarter century missionary work among Muslims in Africa adds great insight to his book. I highly recommend this book to every evangelist.
Reviewed by Harold Vaughan “Prayer is the very pulse of the spiritual life.” So Andrew Murray reminds us in this classic book on the power of prayer. With profound insight, the author reveals the greatest secret to success in our pursuit of God, that in spiritual work everything depends upon prayer. Most often it is simply the sin of prayerlessness that causes us to fall short in reaching our full potential in God.
The purpose of the VOICE OF THE EVANGELISTS is to present a unified, positive voice of independent Baptist evangelists for the cause of nationaland international biblical evangelism and revival in the twenty-first century through passionate and Spirit-filled praying and preaching.
